DDC Rajouri Vikas Kundal reviews progress on IWMP works

RAJOURI, MARCH 04: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the progress on the projects being executed under Integrated Watershed management program.

Officers who attended the meeting included CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO IWMP, Parveen Akhter; DIO, Narinder Kumar and ExEn REW, Bashir Ahmed.

At the outset, the PO IWMP informed that the Integrated Water Management Program was started in the year 2014-15 and its main objective was to restore ecological balance by harnessing, conserving and developing degraded natural resources such as soil, vegetative cover and water.

It was informed that 6 projects were approved of which 2 are complete in all respects, while work on the rest was in progress with 79 works approved at an estimated cost of Rs 90 Lakh in 12 panchayats of the district.

The ExEn REW informed that all the estimates have been technically sanctioned and the administrative approval of the estimates is awaiting.

The DDC asked the concerned officers to ensure that all the projects are completed at the earliest so that the benefits reach the general public.

He also directed the PO IWMP to furnish the geotagged photos of all the works completed so far to his office.
