DEO Kishtwar holds Press briefing on Special Summary Revision

KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER15: District Election Officer (DEO), Kishtwar , (Deputy Commissioner), Dr Devansh Yadav today said that the District Election Department has fully geared up to conduct Special Summary Revision in the district to register new voters and settle the claims as provisioned under the ECI guidelines.

 Speaking at a press briefing on SSR-2022, he said the process of inviting claims and objections has been started in the District after wide publicity of the schedule and publication of draft electoral rolls.

 The DEO further informed that a meeting with the representatives of Political Parties was held today and representatives were asked to appoint and submit the list of Booth Level Agents who shall co-ordianate with the respective BLOs for hassle free registration of eligible persons as voters.

During the press briefing, DEO Kishtwar further informed that special camps for registration, addition, deletion of voters  by BLOs will be held at their respective polling booths on 24th & 25th September and 1st,2nd,15th and 16th October 2022 in the district.

He appealed to the youth above 18 yrs of age to take part in special summary revision of electoral rolls (SSRERs) in the District and register themselves as new voters.

Responding to the media queries, the DEO Kishtwar   said the eligible persons can apply online as new voters using the NVSP portal besides get necessary information and help on GARUDA APP and Voters Helpline App.

He further informed that on the demand of representatives of Political Parties the rationalisation of  polling booths will be conducted as per the guidelines issued by Election Commission.

The DEO urged the Media persons to act as ambassadors for spreading awareness about the Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls (SSRERs) and conducting SVEEP activities.
