Jammu, November 08: JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla on Tuesday asked the central government when it would ensure a congenial atmosphere for elections to take place in Jammu and Kashmir and elect a government of the people here. He accused BJP leadership of callousness and said it cannot shun and run away from owning the responsibility of creating this mess and back-stabbing the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “The directionless, agenda-less and clueless policy of the Modi government has left the people of Jammu and Kashmir in complete despair and this is a grave national concern.
“How does Prime Minister Modi propose to ensure peace and normalcy in Kashmir? What is the economic roadmap for inclusion and progress for the people of J&K?” Bhalla fired a volley of questions during public interaction at the Apna Vihar area of Jammu South Constituency. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Block President Satish Sharma, Corporator Pritam Singh, Dr. Vijay Sharma, Sarpanch Rajesh Sharma, Retd DC Vijay Sharma, PS Bali, Kewal Saini, Pritam Singh Jamwal, Malvinder Singh Dutta, BR Chandan, Vikas Sharma, Neeraj Tandon, TP Singh, Bharat Bushan Gupta, Chaman Choudhary, Mohal Lal, Sudagar Choudhary, HK Pangotra, Sudesh Goyal, Surinder Sehgal beside others.
Ridiculing loud speak of BJP, Bhalla asserted that Congress will emerge as the single largest party in upcoming Assembly elections by maintaining an edge in Jammu and Kashmir.“If some people want to take pleasure by daydreaming they are free to do so but the ground situation is not going to change”, he said. He, however, cautioned the people against vicious propaganda being spread by political parties with an eye on votes and said their entire edifice stands on falsehood and populism. He took dig at these parties, especially for making tall claims on the numbers in the ensuing elections, saying their political relevance is a big question mark.
He said people will never forget replacing state subject laws, ignoring the historic reality that it was Maharaja Hari Singh who enacted this revolutionary legislation in 1927 to save the people of Jammu and Kashmir from the dominance of elite and affluent sections of non-state subjects. He asked the people to remain vigilant against these elements who are hand in glove and working complimentary and supplementary to each other with the only objective of weakening Congress. “Despite lacking the minimum required political base in the Jammu province, they are running paper tigers with loud speak”, he added.
“Given the committed cadre base, upright leadership, and presence across J&K, Congress will provide a stable government”, Bhalla said.He urged the party cadre to put up their best for meeting the challenge and steer Congress to a massive victory. Describing workers and the grassroots level functionaries as the real strength of Congress, Bhalla said their commitment to the policies and programmes and wholehearted support of the people has all along made Congress a great legacy to wither away all obstacles and challenges. Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla impressed upon the need for a massive mandate to Congress, saying this is imperative for taking bold decisions with regard to the development and implementation of various welfare programmes, He said Congress-led government had laid a strong edifice of development was taken back under BJP rule failing to bring optimum results at the grassroots level.
Referring to the revolutionary measures like Public Services Guarantee and Right to Information Acts taken by Congress Govt, Bhalla said these were essentially aimed at making the Government accountable, administration responsive and people empowered to ask questions. But BJP Govt doesn’t believe in transparency, as a result of which these historic measures were not taken care of by the BJP Govt.
