Rajnath Singh Worship Arms at Sukna War Memorial in Darjeeling
New Delhi, 25 October (HC). Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday worshiped arms at Sukna War Memorial in Darjeeling. This morning paid tribute to the Sukna War Memorial in Darjeeling and addressed the soldiers. He was accompanied by Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane. After worship, he said that I always feel very happy to meet the soldiers of the Indian Army. Their morale has been very high, it is low enough to be praised. India wants that tension ends and peace is established. I am fully confident that our army will not let even an inch of India’s landfall into the hands of another.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane reached Darjeeling on Saturday. Via helicopter from the 33 Corp Headquarters arrived Sukna. Visited Sukna Corp in Darjeeling district of Bengal. This same corpus of the army has been given the responsibility to protect the Bhutan and China borders with China. The Defense Minister and the Army Chief reviewed the operational situation and military preparedness in the northeast region at Sukna military camp late in the evening. This morning paid tribute to the Sukna War Memorial in Darjeeling and addressed the soldiers.
Addressing the soldiers, the Defense Minister said that India always wants better relations with all its neighbors, we have always strived for the same. Despite this, our soldiers have had to sacrifice their lives from time to time to protect their boundaries, integrity, and universality.
After this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane will visit the forward areas and talk to the soldiers. The Defense Minister will visit Sherthang, Nathu La and other areas near LAC in the Sikkim sector on Sunday. During this time, he will perform ‘Shastra Pujan’ on the occasion of Dussehra with the troops stationed in the Nathula region of Sikkim along the China border. During his visit, the Defense Minister will inaugurate an infrastructure project of the Border Roads Organization in the Sikkim sector. He will also review the progress of some projects under ‘ Project Swastik’, including the JNM Alternative Access Route in Sikkim. The Defense Minister will also inaugurate and inaugurate several strategic bridges built in the Sikkim sector today.
The Defense Minister accompanied a team of Air Force fighter pilots last year to the manufacturing plant in Bordeaux, France, on 8 October to take the first Rafale. On the same day, on Vijayadashami festival, he acquired the first Rafale fighter aircraft in France and worshiped his weapon. There is a custom of worshiping weapons on the Dussehra festival in many places in India. Therefore, on this day, it was decided to go to the border with China and worship arms with soldiers. The purpose of celebrating Dussehra on the China border is also to increase the morale of the soldiers stationed here.
The visit of Rajnath Singh comes at a time when military talks are underway to reduce the deadlock between India and China. Three incidents of firing have also taken place on LAC and the soldiers of both countries have lost their lives in the violent clash of Galvan. Therefore, the Defense Minister can also visit places where India has deployed a large number of troops and tanks to prevent possible infiltration attempts from China.
