Shiv Sena rue over organized-loot of book, uniform vendors of private schools 

JAMMU,06-04-2023 : Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) J&K unit today staged a protest against the organized loot of private schools, book and uniform vendors and the Education Department is watching silently instead of taking action to save the hard-earned money of parents.

In this context, dozens of Shiv Sena activists headed by Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena J&K unit today staged a protest at the party state office Jammu against the School Education Department by displaying placards ‘Stop the loot of education mafia’, ‘Improve education level of government schools”, “Stop organized loot of schools, book, and uniform sellers”.

Talking to reporters, Sahni said that some private schools are openly exploiting the parents for buying books and uniforms, flouting the instructions of the education department along with increasing the arbitrary annual fees and tuition fees. Despite having complete information from the Education Department, no strict action is being taken.

Sahni said that most of the private schools forced parents to buy complete sets of textbooks, stationery and uniforms at exorbitant rates from some particular shops. He said that as per CBSE circular August 8, 2017 and other circulars and related circulars), schools are supposed to prescribe and use NCERT books alone but most private schools provide students with workbooks and notebooks apart from their prescribed 2-Asks to buy books which put the financial burden on parents with flouting of government orders. Heavy weight of school bags affects the physical and mental health of children, he added.

Sahni urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to issue strict instructions to the School Education Department and Fee Fixation Committee to curb this juggling and organized loot to save the hard-earned money of parents from these greedy managements of private schools.

Among those who joined the protest include Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi , Chairman Rajesh Gupta , Prabhari Ashwani Prabhakar,, Anil Anand , Anu Anand  , Arun Kumar , Bodh Raj. Roop Singh , Ravi Kumar , Mahinder. satish and many others were present.
