JAMMU, APR 23: Taranjit Singh Tony, Chairman Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jammu and Kashmir for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs, and DDC Member Suchetgarh has demanded a thorough probe into the Poonch terror attack in which five soldiers made the supreme sacrifice.
In a statement issued to media here today, while strongly condemning the terror attack, Tony alleged that this incident is yet another instance of a big security lapse after Pulwama incident for which the government and its intelligence agencies must own the responsibility. He said that this amply indicates that Pakistan by getting such attacks executed is trying to test the alertness of the Indian security and intelligence agencies.
Tony while questioning the Govt on this serious issue asked what are the intelligence agencies doing? He said that if this is the real face of our agencies then undoubtedly there is every apprehension of some very big terror onslaught in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days.
Terming it as a major security lapse, he expressed shock and grief over losing brave hearts of the nation. He urged the Govt to be extremely serious on such issues so that we do not lose brave hearts any more. Tony also strongly condemned the so called Modi media for not highlighting such a grave and national security matter on merits.
Meanwhile, the senior AAP leader conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the brave-hearts and appealed to the Govt to provide the best possible facilities and support to the Martyrs’ families. He demanded that ‘Special Identity Cards’ be issued to the family members of the Martyrs so that they are accorded priority in every sector and can live a hurdle free and peaceful life.
Tony asserted that this is the nation’s topmost priority as it is the result of martyrs and their families that the people across the nation are feeling safe and secure. He said that no other contribution can be more valuable than the supreme sacrifice of the soldiers and the nation stands highly indebted to them and their families.
