BSS Panjgrain starts Langar for Amarnath pilgrims

NAGROTA, Jul 4: Commissioner, State Taxes and Administrative Secretary, Mining Department, J&K, Dr. Rashmi Singh in presence of former Education Minister J&K, Priya Sethi, Vice President Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Yudhvir Sethi, Vice President BJP, former Mayor Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Swami Mrinmayananda and Swami Satyamitrananda Ji Maharaj Secretary of Bharat Sevashram Sangha Panjgrain, Nagrota, inaugurated a Langar being organized by Bharat Sevashram Sangha for Amarnath Pilgrims at Panjgrain, Nagrota.

Continuing their commitment towards the service of humanity, Swami Satyamitra and Ji, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir of BSS, said that a Bhandara is being organized by the devotees of the Sangha for Shri Amarnath pilgrims at Panjgrain, Nagorta every year.

“Bhandara will continue till the end of the Shri Amarnath Yatra,” he said adding that the pilgrims will be served breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Langar during the Yatra period. He further said that Sangh also provides free medical services as well and rehabilitation for pilgrims.

While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rashmi Singh appreciated the social work done by the organization. She said that BSS is engaged in hosting social welfare activities all over the country. BSS is contributing in the spheres of health, education and self-employment, she added. She expressed hope that Yatra will be completed successfully without any untoward incidents.

Former Minister J&K, Priya Sethi, appreciated the efforts of the BSS and said that every year a large number of social organisations join hands with the administration to ensure smooth conduct of the Yatra.

“The administration is fully geared up for all Yatra-related activities, but efforts made by different social organizations in providing much-needed support to the Yatris at different locations are praiseworthy,” she added.

Vice President Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Yudhvir Sethi said the administration has made elaborate arrangements for the Yatra, but social organisations also play a substantial role by supplementing efforts in arranging Langars, medical camps and other facilities for the visiting devotees and make the task of the administration somewhat easy. He said thousands of devotees and Sadhus have been availing the facilities made available by the BSS at Nagrota.

Speaking on the occasion, former Mayor Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta highlighted various welfare activities organized by the Sangha for the poor and downtrodden.

Earlier on their arrival, all the dignitaries along with BSS members performed Puja in the traditional style of BSS, followed by the unfurling of the Sanstha Flag in presence of prominent members of Sangha and civil society.

In the programme, Swami Mrinmayananda and Swami Satyamitrananda Ji Maharaj also honoured the invited guests with mementos.  They also distributed warm clothes and torches among the Shri Amarnathji pilgrims for their safe pilgrimage.  Later, all the guests served Prasad of the Bhandara to all the participants.
