Balwant Thakur inducts Eighteen new artists in Natrang

Jammu 28-09-2023 : In its major initiative to introduce new talents in the field of music, dance and drama, Natrang Director Padamshree Balwant Thakur today inducted 18 new young energetic artists in the talent pool of Natrang. Aimed at giving them immense opportunities of learning and performance at the National and International level, Natrang keep holding periodic auditions in the local collages and the schools. While welcoming them in Natrang Director Balwant Thakur dwelt in detail about the journey of Natrang and it’s magnificent role it played in shaping and grooming the talents of this region. Majority of those who have made a huge name in the Films and Television are the products of Natrang.  In Jammu Natrang since in inception in the year 1983 have been endeavouring to provide training programmes under the guidance of top professionals of the country. At occasions Natrang invited international experts to train the artists working in the organisation. Unfortunately, the entire UT of Jammu & Kashmir has been failing in providing the professional courses in performing arts, particularly in dramatics. The government also never paid any heed to this growing demand. This region is full of vibrant talents but in the absence of the organised professional learning platforms this entire pool of talent is sadly going waste. Through its earnest efforts, Natrang is trying to fill this huge gap. The training in Acting and Dance in Natrang is provided free of charges with a larger mission of attracting more and more talents towards the formal training in the field of performing arts.

Natrang currently is running regular training programmes in Acting and Dance and the artists undergoing training in different batches get immense opportunities in the series of programmes which the institute organises within and outside the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. Natrang is the only professionally organised performing arts institution in Jammu & Kashmir and all major prestigious cultural events are produced and presented by Natrang. Recently concluded G20 Srinagar cultural events were conceptualized, designed and presented by Natrang Jammu.

He hoped that the artists who have been inducted today will make a big name for the UT of Jammu & Kashmir and will also bring pride and honour for their proud parents.

The new inducted artists in Natrang included Tania Balgotra, Deepshikha Sharma, Radhika Khajuria, Anmolpreet Kour, Jaspreet Kour, Malik Madiha, Ritika, Kashish Misri, Himanshi Jain, Suhani Sharma, Prerna Sharma, Mehak Banzore, Bhumi Nagotra, Raghav Pandita, Shruti Sharma, Amit Rana, Anand Verma and Kashish Katoch.
