Jammu and Kashmir, September 29, 2023: In a significant development, the Union Home Ministry issued a notification on Friday, officially inducting 28 officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Police into the esteemed Indian Police Service (IPS). This momentous move marks a significant step in bolstering the region’s law enforcement capabilities and represents a noteworthy recognition of the officers’ dedication and commitment to maintaining law and order.
According to the notification, these officers have been inducted into the AGMUT cadre of the IPS, which encompasses the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories (AGMUT). As part of the standard protocol, these newly minted IPS officers will be required to undergo a one-year probationary period.
