Delhi Police Apprehends NIA’s Most Wanted ISIS Terrorist, Shahnawaz, Linked to Escaped from Pune Police Custody

New Delhi: In a significant breakthrough in counter-terrorism operations, the Delhi Police has successfully apprehended Shahnawaz, one of the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) most wanted terrorists, alleged to have deep-seated connections with an ISIS module. This arrest comes as a major development in the ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks and ensure national security.

Shahnawaz, who had managed to evade the clutches of law enforcement authorities, particularly the Pune Police, was traced and captured in the heart of Delhi. He had been living incognito in the capital city, evading justice. The gravity of his alleged involvement is underscored by the fact that he carried a reward of Rs 3 lakh on his head.

An individual with a professional background in engineering, Shahnawaz was taken into custody by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell during an operation executed on Sunday night in a locality in southeast Delhi. The authorities are currently subjecting him to rigorous interrogation to unearth crucial information about his activities and affiliations.

In connection with this significant arrest, several other individuals, believed to be connected to the same module, have also been detained for questioning. This coordinated effort aims to comprehensively dismantle any networks or affiliations Shahnawaz may have been associated with.

Furthermore, during Shahnawaz’s apprehension, authorities discovered a chemical substance in his possession, which was promptly seized. The nature and significance of this substance are currently under investigation.

In addition to the chemical substance, the police have successfully recovered other incriminating materials that are suspected to be linked to the fabrication of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). This finding underscores the grave implications of Shahnawaz’s activities and the urgency with which law enforcement agencies are acting to neutralize any potential threats to national security.
