JAMMU, Oct 5: Taranjit Singh Tony, a Congress leader and Member of DDC Suchetgarh, expressed the prevailing skepticism among the people of Jammu and Kashmir towards the BJP’s pre-election rhetoric ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He remarked that the BJP’s actions, notably the bifurcation of the state, have inflicted substantial damage on Jammu and Kashmir, a region once celebrated as the crown jewel of the country.
In a statement issued here today, the Congress leader firmly believed that the BJP’s political jumlas have been laid bare, leaving no room for doubt that the Saffron Party is avoiding a direct confrontation in the upcoming elections. He emphasized that this reluctance on the BJP’s part underscores their awareness of the ground realities and their apprehension about the potential electoral outcome.
The Congress leader highlighted the deep-rooted disillusionment with the BJP across every corner of the state due to what many perceive as anti-poor, anti-youth, and anti-employment policies. He underscored and brought to the forefront the myriad failures of the Narendra Modi-led government. One of the key concerns is the economic downturn and the adverse impact on employment opportunities for the country’s youth. The rising unemployment rates and the lack of job creation have left millions of young Indians disheartened, he said, adding that inflation is on the rise, and it is becoming an increasingly concerning issue for citizens across India. The persistent increase in the prices of essential goods and services is taking a toll on the common man’s pocket, making it harder for them to make ends meet, he added.
Tony called upon the people to consider giving the Congress Party an opportunity, as he firmly believes that only the Congress Party possesses the capability to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
