Jammu and Kashmir Bank Expands Digital Services with Online Account Opening Facility and Video KYC
MD & CEO Baldev Prakash Inaugurates J&K Bank's Online Account Opening Facility, Emphasizing Digital Growth
Srinagar, 09-10-2023 : Jammu and Kashmir Bank has taken a significant step in its digital transformation journey by introducing an Online Account Opening Facility with Video KYC, allowing new customers to open accounts digitally. The MD & CEO of the bank, Baldev Prakash, officially inaugurated this digital product during a ceremony at the Zonal Office in Jammu. The event was attended by several high-ranking officials from the bank, including Divisional Head (Jammu) Sunit Kumar, DGMs, and other officers.
Baldev Prakash, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the importance of this digital milestone, emphasizing the bank’s commitment to becoming a digitally powered financial institution. He assured customers that data privacy and security remained their top priority, underscoring the bank’s dedication to building trust with its clients.
He further explained that creating a unified online platform for customer onboarding was a testament to the bank’s dedication to complete digital transformation. This platform, he noted, would virtually expand the bank’s operational reach, ensuring that more people could access affordable financial services easily, regardless of their location or status.
Baldev Prakash commended the efforts of the team responsible for implementing this solution, acknowledging the remarkable work done by professionals as they moved forward in their digital journey.
Sudhir Gupta, the Bank’s Executive Director, expressed his pride in the bank’s proactive approach to digital transformation in the rapidly evolving landscape of banking and finance in the country.
The customer journey for this online account opening facility takes only 5 to 10 minutes and seamlessly integrates with third-party systems like UIDAI, NSDL, Fintechs, and internal systems such as CBS, debit card switch, mPay, SMS, and email.
The launching ceremony was chaired by Executive Director Sudhir Gupta and was attended by all top executives and other officers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Deputy General Manager (BPR & IT). This digital initiative is expected to enhance the bank’s digital portfolio and provide greater convenience to its customers.
