Former MP Ch Lal Singh Lambasts BJP Government, Promises Change in Jammu and Kashmir
Upholding Rights: Ch Lal Singh Pledges to Fight for Jobs and Land Rights in J&K
BILLAWAR, Mar 24: Ch Lal Singh, a former MP and Congress candidate for the Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat, launched a scathing attack today on the BJP-led government and the UT administration in Jammu and Kashmir for failing to address the aspirations of the people living in the region. He said that the’much annoyed’ people have decided to bring about a change in the system and teach a lesson to this government.
Speaking at a sizable public gathering at Mandli in Billawar today in favour of the Congress candidate for the Kathua-Udhampur-Doda seat, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, a former minister and former MLA for Billawar, hosted the event, Ch Lal Singh stated that the people of Jammu had suffered greatly under the BJP government.
There is organized loot of the resources of J&K. There is no job security and the lands of the local people are being snatched.
Lal Singh claimed that in organized manner, the youth from other States are being appointed in various Government Departments and banks, depriving the local educated youth of their legitimate right. He said they have done enough excesses in J&K after abrogation of Article 370 making false promises and now the people will turn the table. The people at the helm of affairs responsible for their miseries, will be thrown out by the angry people this time. He sought the support of the people for winning Kathua-Udhampur-Doda seat.
Ex-MP said the present dispensation is using CBI and ED for suppressing the voice of the opposition. He claimed that he will fight for the jobs and land rights of the people and the voice of the Dogras will echo in the Parliament if he is elected from this seat.
Earlier, Dr Manohar Lal gave a rousing reception to Ch Lal Singh for his candidature for Parliament election from Udhampur-Doda seat.
While extending a warm welcome to Lal Singh, Dr.Manohar Lal said that it is the time to settle all the scores which people suffered in the last ten years. He expressed anguish on the total neglect of Billawar constituency where not a single project has been implemented. He further said that the attitude of the present MP has been so rude and arrogant that it remained a dream for everyone to have access to his office. He appealed to all his workers to give massive support to Ch Lal Singh and ensure his victory to end the sufferings which they have been facing till now. Many Sarpanches, Panches and local leaders joined Congress and extended full support to him. Later, Ch Lal Singh left for the shrine of Mata Sukrala Devi to seek her blessings.
