Farooq Abdullah Hails PDP’s Move to Join Congress-NC Alliance: “A Great Thing for J&K”

Congress-NC Alliance Poised for Majority as Farooq Abdullah Praises PDP's Support

SRINAGAR, Oct 6: National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah on Sunday expressed optimism about the Congress-NC alliance forming the next government in Jammu and Kashmir with a clear majority. Speaking to the media, Abdullah warmly welcomed the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) willingness to join the alliance, calling it a “great thing” for the region’s political landscape.

Reflecting on the PDP leader’s recent remarks about the party’s readiness to join forces with the Congress-NC alliance to prevent the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from gaining power, Abdullah said, “Congratulations to them. This is a great thing. We are all on the same path. Our mission is to end hatred and keep Jammu and Kashmir united.”

While Abdullah refrained from commenting on exit polls, he emphasized that the final results, expected on October 8, would reveal the outcome of the assembly elections. “On October 8, all the results will be clear. The ballot boxes will be opened, and we’ll see where everyone stands. But I am confident that the Congress-NC alliance will secure a majority and form the government,” he concluded confidently.

Abdullah’s remarks indicate a significant political shift in Jammu and Kashmir, where traditional rivals are now aligning in a joint effort to maintain unity and stability in the region amidst the complex electoral landscape.
