AIFF Women’s Football Committee Focuses on Asian Cup Preparations
Committee reviews national teams’ readiness, coaching support, and development programmes for women’s football
NEW DELHI, Dec 23: The All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Women’s Football Committee convened at Football House in New Delhi on Sunday to review preparations for the senior, U20, and U17 women’s teams ahead of their respective AFC Women’s Asian Cup campaigns.
The meeting was chaired by Valanka Alemao and attended by AIFF Deputy Secretary General M. Satyanarayan, Deputy Chairperson Tsering Angmo, and committee members Tababi Devi, Chitra Gangadharan, and Shabana Rabbani, according to the AIFF website.
Committee members conducted an extensive review of recent team performances, coaching departments, and support staff, identifying specific challenges and areas for improvement. A key focus was the development of women coaches, with plans for dedicated programmes and social media initiatives to highlight their contributions and inspire the next generation of female football leaders.
Player safety was highlighted as a top priority, with the Committee proposing measures to ensure a secure and inclusive environment for athletes across all age groups. Financial and budgetary considerations were also discussed to ensure the allocation of adequate resources for the growth and competitive excellence of women’s football in India.
The Committee emphasised that strengthening infrastructure, support systems, and development pathways is central to achieving success at the upcoming Asian Cup tournaments.
