Akash Ambani Hails PM Modi as Key Driver of India’s Digital Transformation

New Delhi, Oct 08 : Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his transformative leadership, calling it pivotal in steering India’s digital revolution. Speaking to media on the sidelines of the 9th India Mobile Congress (IMC 2025), Ambani said, “It has been an absolutely revolutionary mode for India, and we are lucky to have a leader like him.”

He emphasized India’s growing prowess across the digital value chain from semiconductors and artificial intelligence to fraud prevention and emerging 6G technologies adding, “We look forward to innovating and keeping India at the forefront of digital capitalism.”

Ambani highlighted the IMC as a showcase of the country’s expanding technological ecosystem, reflecting India’s progress toward becoming a global hub of innovation driven by startups, academia, and industry leaders. “What we saw today is a reflection of how far India has come and the kind of future it is shaping,” he noted.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi reiterated the importance of strengthening the ‘Make in India’ initiative across industries, including mobile phones, semiconductors, and electronics. He noted that reforms are being fast-tracked to attract investment, adding, “The country, which used to struggle for 2G, now has 5G connectivity in most districts.”

Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also highlighted India’s remarkable digital growth: “From being a technology taker, India today has become the digital flag bearer of the world. Mobile data costs have fallen 98 per cent in the last 11 years, and we now have 1.2 billion mobile subscribers and 944 million broadband users, compared to 60 million in 2014.”

Ambani’s remarks underscore the transformative impact of PM Modi’s leadership on India’s digital infrastructure and global technological presence.
