Alleged Criminal Booked under Public Safety Act in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi District

13-06-2023 : According to the police, an individual named Makbool Ahmad, also known as “Tian” and residing in Gran Morh, has been charged under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Due to his repeated engagement in criminal activities, Ahmad has been incarcerated in the Amphalla district jail in Jammu.

Records indicate that the accused has been involved in three distinct criminal cases registered at the Reasi police station since 2022. The Public Safety Act is an administrative law that grants authorities the power to detain individuals without charge or trial for a period of up to two years in certain cases.

This latest action taken against Makbool Ahmad under the PSA highlights the authorities’ resolve to address criminal activities and ensure public safety. The detainment serves as a preventive measure to curb further illegal acts and maintain law and order in the region.
