Andhra Pradesh Encounter: Notorious Maoist Leader Hidma Killed

Six Maoists, including Hidma and his wife, neutralized in Maredumilli forest clash with Greyhound forces

Andhra Pradesh, Nov 18 :  Police confirmed that Madvi Hidma, the most-wanted Maoist leader and Central Committee member of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army, was killed in a fierce encounter at Maredumilli village in ASR district on Tuesday. The operation, carried out by a large contingent of Greyhound forces, resulted in the deaths of six Maoists, including Hidma’s wife, Rajakka.

Hidma, who carried a bounty of ₹1 crore, had orchestrated 24 major attacks on security forces over the past 25 years, causing significant casualties, including CRPF personnel. He had successfully evaded capture until this encounter.

The clash erupted during a combing operation in the densely forested area, leading to a violent exchange of fire. Former Maoists helped authorities identify Hidma’s body at the scene.

AP Intelligence Chief Mahesh Chandra Laddha is personally overseeing the ongoing combing operations in the forest. Further details of the encounter are awaited as security forces continue their search.
