RAMBAN, MARCH 26: The Municipal Council and Committees of Ramban, Banihal, and Batote today conducted intensive anti-encroachment drives in their respective town to retrieve public spaces and pedestrian walkways.
This step has been taken by the authorities to ease the congestion on the roads and streets caused due to encroachments made by the vendors and shopkeepers.
During the anti-encroachment drives, the teams headed by Executive Officers, Municipal Council, Ramban, Ashraf Zargar, and EO MC, Batote, Ninad Singh along the Police department removed many encroachments in the towns besides urged the shopkeepers not to use the public area for their business activities.
They also checked rates of fruits, vegetables, milk, general stores, dhabas, and other eatables besides inspected the quality of essential commodities. They also appealed to them to maintain social distancing, wear face masks and follow COVID-19 SoPs.
