Apple set to unveil first foldable iPhone as company pushes deeper into AI era

CUPERTINO, Sep 9: Apple is set to unveil its latest iPhone lineup on Wednesday, with the company’s first foldable smartphone expected to be the biggest attraction at an event that could mark a significant shift in its product strategy.

The event will be closely watched as new Apple CEO John Ternus takes the stage for the company’s major annual smartphone launch. Apple has remained outside the foldable-phone segment while rivals including Samsung, Google and Motorola have expanded their offerings.

The expected foldable iPhone is likely to carry a premium price of more than $2,500, making it one of Apple’s most expensive smartphones. Analysts believe the device could nevertheless generate strong demand because of Apple’s established ecosystem and reputation for premium hardware.
