Arun Gupta Re-elected as President of Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry

JAMMU, June 8: In a closely contested election, Arun Gupta has been re-elected as the President of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) for the 2025-27 term. He, along with his entire panel, emerged victorious in the bi-ennial elections conducted at the Chamber House. Arun Gupta secured a total of 1,461 votes, defeating his nearest rival Rakesh Gupta, who garnered 1,290 votes.

In the election for the post of Senior Vice President, Anil Gupta clinched victory with 1,603 votes, defeating Deepak Aggarwal, who polled 1,010 votes. The position of Junior Vice President went to Rajeev Gupta (popularly known as Kaka), who received an impressive 1,812 votes, significantly ahead of his opponent Sunil Gupta (Kodha), who managed 916 votes.

For the post of Secretary General, Manish Gupta emerged victorious by securing 1,487 votes, surpassing Rahul Mahajan who received 1,226 votes. In the contest for Secretary, Ashu Gupta polled 1,144 votes. However, in a surprising result, he defeated Rajesh Gupta (Rinku), who despite receiving a higher vote count of 1,496, was not declared the winner — indicating a possible reporting or tabulation error that may require clarification.

Meanwhile, Rajesh Gupta (Raju) was elected as Treasurer with 1,295 votes. He defeated his two main contenders — Manik Gupta, who secured 739 votes, and Rajeev Langer, who obtained 602 votes.

The elections were conducted under the supervision of the Election Committee chaired by Shiv Partap Gupta, who was widely praised by the JCCI members for overseeing a free, fair, and transparent electoral process. The newly elected leadership has been welcomed by members with high expectations for continuing developmental initiatives and strengthening the commercial ecosystem in the Jammu region.
