Association of Industries Gangyal urges J&K govt to amend S.O. 70, 71 & 72 for SGST reimbursement relief
Jammu, 03-02-2025: A delegation of the Association of Industries (Regd.) Gangyal Jammu led by its president Sh. Virendra Jain along with Mr. Sanjay Langar, General Secretary, Sh. Jatinder Singh, Treasurer met with the Commissioner, State Taxes Department of J&K, Jammu Sh. P.K. Bhat. The meeting was focused on the issues related to S.O. 70, 71 & 72 wherein Govt. has issued amnesty to the unit holders who failed to file claims of reimbursement of SGST in time for the reasons beyond their control but the condition put in S.O’s “Provided further that the eligible industrial units who have filed their claims beyond the prescribed timeline, before the issuance of this notification, can avail the benefit of the scheme provided that they have filed all the due returns under section 39 of Jammu and Kashmir Goods & Service Tax Act, 2017 and paid the tax due thereon in time.”
This condition has deprived most of the unit holders from getting the reimbursement. Such condition needs to be removed. The delegation apprised the commissioner of the challenges faced by the industries in the region and sought his intervention in resolving these issues.
Further, the delegation also invited the attention of the Commissioner, State Taxes Department, that the GST reimbursement claims to the tune of crores of rupees have been submitted with the department, which are yet to be cleared. Due to non-payment of GST reimbursement, the industrial sector is facing a huge financial crunch.
The Commissioner, State Taxes Department was very kind enough to give a patient hearing to the deliberations of the delegation. He assured that the problems put forth by the delegation shall be addressed as the Govt. already working on the problems being faced by the entrepreneurs.
