Awarapan 2 Surges at Box Office, Emraan Hashmi Film Crosses Rs 50 Crore Mark

The romantic action sequel recorded a strong opening weekend after releasing during the Independence Day holiday period.

MUMBAI, Aug 17: Emraan Hashmi starrer Awarapan 2 has made a strong start at the Indian box office, crossing the Rs 50 crore mark within its first two days of release, according to industry figures reported by entertainment publications.

The film arrived in theatres on August 14 and benefited from the extended Independence Day weekend. Its early performance has placed it ahead of Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s Batwara 1947 in the domestic box-office race.

The sequel has generated considerable interest among audiences, particularly among fans of the original Awarapan. Its opening has also marked a significant milestone for Hashmi, with reports describing it as his biggest box-office opener to date.

Despite receiving mixed responses from critics and viewers, the film has maintained strong momentum during its opening weekend.

The commercial performance has also sparked discussion about the future of the franchise. Hashmi has reportedly hinted at the possibility of another instalment, giving fans reason to speculate about Awarapan 3.

With the holiday period continuing to draw audiences to cinemas, the film’s performance in the coming days will determine whether it can sustain its early momentum and move towards the Rs 100 crore milestone.
