Mumbai, Nov 3 : SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic has roared back to life at the box office, setting a new record for re-released films. The remastered version of the iconic franchise opened to a thunderous response, collecting an estimated ₹22.56 crore in its opening weekend, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.
The film’s performance slightly surpassed the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), which had earned ₹22.35 crore during its opening weekend. Despite being a re-release, Baahubali: The Epic managed to draw massive crowds, reaffirming the timeless allure of Rajamouli’s magnum opus.
Baahubali: The Epic Box Office Collection Day 3  Strong Weekend Performance
Released on October 31, Baahubali: The Epic began its theatrical run with a powerful ₹9.65 crore nett on Day 1, which included ₹1.15 crore from special premiere shows. Saturday saw collections dip slightly to ₹7.3 crore, followed by ₹4.46 crore on Sunday.
While daily figures showed a gradual decline, the weekend total of ₹22.56 crore remains remarkable for a remastered release. Trade analysts hailed the performance, noting that such numbers are rare for a film that audiences have already watched multiple times across formats.
On Sunday, the film registered an average occupancy rate of 50.5% across India  a clear sign of its enduring popularity.
What’s New in ‘Baahubali: The Epic’
The re-release merges Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) into one seamless narrative, condensed into a runtime of 3 hours and 44 minutes. The new version features enhanced visuals, remastered sound, and refined editing for a smoother storytelling experience.
Fans have praised how the two films flow together, making it feel like a single epic saga rather than two distinct parts.

Baahubali: The Epic stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar.
The story follows Shivudu (Prabhas), a young man who discovers his royal lineage as Amarendra Baahubali and faces his tyrannical cousin Bhallaladeva (Rana Daggubati) in a legendary battle for justice and legacy.
The original Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) remains the third-highest-grossing Indian film of all time, behind Dangal and Pushpa 2: The Rule.
