Bhushan Kumar Confirms ‘Border 3’ to Proceed with Sunny Deol, Director Anurag Singh
Following the blockbuster success of Border 2, T-Series producer assures fans that the iconic war saga will continue
Mumbai, Jan 27 : The war drama Border 2 has taken the box office by storm, grossing over Rs 200 crore within its first extended weekend. Riding high on positive word of mouth and fan enthusiasm, producer Bhushan Kumar has confirmed that a third installment in the franchise is in the works.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Kumar revealed that he and director Anurag Singh had originally planned a different project together, but after the success of Border 2, they are now set to focus on Border 3. “Now is the time for that. The next film will be on those lines. Then, we will return to Border,” he said.
Kumar also highlighted the joint venture between his company and Singh’s, confirming, “He’ll be directing, and it will be something new. Border 3 will happen in due course.” He credited Singh for reviving the franchise after nearly three decades, saying, “Anurag has worked so hard to rebuild it. If you bring something back after almost 30 years and it is getting so much love, we will definitely take it forward.”
Border 2 stars Sunny Deol in the lead, supported by an ensemble cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana. The film has dominated the domestic box office, reportedly earning Rs 59 crore on the Republic Day holiday alone. Its four-day total net collection stands at Rs 180 crore, while the gross has surpassed Rs 212 crore, cementing its status as a major commercial success.
Fans can now eagerly anticipate the continuation of the legendary Border saga with Sunny Deol and Anurag Singh returning to helm the next chapter.
