BJP Core Committee to Convene at JP Nadda’s Residence Today to Finalise Bihar Poll Candidates
High-level meeting to seal BJP’s candidate list for NDA’s Bihar Assembly slate
Patna, Oct 12: The BJP’s core group convened on Saturday at the residence of National President J.P. Nadda as the party gears up for the Bihar Assembly elections. The high-level meeting, beginning at 11 a.m., was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, senior Bihar BJP leaders, and key members of the party’s central leadership.
The agenda focused on finalising the BJP’s list of candidates for seats allotted under the NDA’s seat-sharing arrangement, following the formal announcement of the alliance’s seat distribution. Sources indicate that the BJP’s Bihar election committee had already submitted panels of potential candidates, with the first official list expected by October 13. The list is likely to reflect a coordinated NDA slate rather than a BJP-only selection.
NDA allies have struck a conciliatory tone ahead of the announcement. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, who previously demanded 40 seats, expressed confidence in the BJP leadership, signaling that an agreement is near. Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) President and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, seeking 15 seats, is also expected to accept the final formula following top-level interventions.
The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14, 2025.
