BJP Govt’s Budget 2023 reflects negative attitude towards health, education: Tony

SUCHETGARH: Castigating BJP Government for neglecting the two most significant sectors including health and education, Taranjit Singh Tony, Chairman of AAP J&K for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs, and Member DDC Suchetgarh said that Union Budget 2023-24 reflected that things of utmost significance have been left on mercy of God.

The senior AAP functionary was addressing a public meeting here at village Trewa. The meeting was organised by Madan Lal Panch, Dev Raj Bhagat, Asha Devi, Mandeep Singh, Sarpanch Tilak Raj Bhagat, Pratap Jamwal, Nisha Rana and Sonika Randhawa.

Tony said that deliberate neglect of the education sector is indicative of Modi Government’s resolve to keep India uneducated as education among Indians would make it difficult for BJP to befool the public again and again, which is the sole agenda of this party which relies on lies and Jumlas to hoodwink the people elections after elections. He said that despite people’s misery and government’s humiliation during pandemic times over poor healthcare infrastructure, it has not learnt the much needed lessons and is not paying the requisite focus on the healthcare sector.

The senior AAP leader said that instead of fortifying education and healthcare sectors, the myopic helmsmen have contrarily reduced the budgets of these fields showing bankruptcy of mind of those steering the country. He said that even a child can elaborate that health and education should have been addressed more aggressively in allocations.

Tony said that instead of boosting education and health budgets, the same have been reduced. “It is unfortunate to reduce education budget from 2.64 per cent to 2.5 per cent this fiscal and cutting short health budget from 2.2 per cent to 1.90 per cent as the same would have deleterious effect on ground and the ultimate sufferer will be the common man”, he maintained, adding that overall the budget is marred with plenty of lacunas which ultimately would hit the people with skyrocketing inflation and record breaking joblessness as both these sectors have also been neglected mercilessly in the budget document prepared half-heartedly by the Finance Minister Sitharaman.
