BJP leader Sunil Sharma dares Omar Abdullah to deny secret post-2014 talks with Centre

People of Kashmir trust BJP’s vision of peace progress and prosperity says Sunil Sharma

Srinagar, November 9 — In a sharp political exchange, BJP leader Sunil Sharma challenged former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take a public oath affirming that he had no secret interactions or political understandings with the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the 2014 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Speaking at an election rally in Budgam organized in support of BJP candidate Syed Mohsin, Sharma, who also serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the erstwhile state assembly, asserted that Omar Abdullah had discreetly approached the BJP leadership following the 2014 polls to explore a possible alliance. However, according to Sharma, the BJP leadership firmly rejected these overtures, staying true to its principles and commitment to national integrity.

“Let Omar Abdullah come forward and swear before the people that he never made any secret attempts to join hands with the BJP after 2014. Our party has always acted with transparency and respect for democratic values,” Sharma declared before a cheering crowd.

He also emphasized that the massive voter turnout in the ongoing elections is a reflection of the people’s trust in the BJP’s agenda of peace, progress, and development across Jammu and Kashmir. Sharma accused the National Conference (NC) of employing double standards and deceitful tactics to halt the BJP’s growing influence in the region.

“The NC is attempting to block the winds of change through its politics of hypocrisy, but the people of Kashmir are now aware and wise enough to see through such designs,” Sharma said, calling upon voters to reject divisive politics and support the BJP’s vision for a stable and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
