BJP to Hold Nationwide Havans as Modi Becomes India’s Longest Serving Prime Minister
Party leaders to hold religious ceremonies across Delhi on June 10 as Narendra Modi becomes India’s longest serving Prime Minister.
NEW DELHI, June 9: Senior BJP leaders, Union ministers, MPs, MLAs and Delhi government representatives will participate in special prayers and havans on Wednesday to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi becoming the longest serving Prime Minister in India’s history.
According to party sources, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, accompanied by Union minister Harsh Malhotra, MP Bansuri Swaraj and state general secretary Pawan Rana, will offer prayers at the Jhandewalan Temple in the national capital.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with North West Delhi MP Yogender Chandolia, is scheduled to visit Ram Mandir at Kishanganj Gaushala for a prayer ceremony marking the occasion.
On June 10, Modi will complete 4,399 days in office, overtaking the previous record of 4,398 days held by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
Several other prominent BJP figures, including Union minister J P Nadda, national general secretary Sunil Bansal, Arun Singh, former Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva, MPs Manoj Tiwari and Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, as well as Delhi ministers Pankaj Kumar Singh, Ashish Sood and Ravindra Indraj, are also expected to participate in religious observances organised to mark the milestone.
