Mumbai, Apr 30 : India’s film industry has reported a strong comeback as several upcoming summer releases recorded exceptional advance bookings across multiplexes and single screen theatres. Trade analysts said audience enthusiasm for big-banner Hindi films has returned after a steady recovery over the past year.
Producers are increasingly focusing on large-scale theatrical experiences, family entertainers, and franchise films to draw footfall. Cinema chains in major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad have seen occupancy rates rise significantly during preview sales.
Industry experts believe the positive momentum is linked to stronger content selection, improved marketing strategies, and festive holiday scheduling.
The surge is expected to boost overall box office revenue during the second quarter of 2026.
