Caste atrocities on SC/STs increasing in Jammu said Kalsotra

Jammu:23.05.2025: R K Kalsotra, State President, of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations  led a team of  state office bearers  including Retired ADDC Ramesh Uttam and Retired Chief Engineer B.L. Bhardwaj to meet with the Barwala Sadar Sabha at Gompul Domana. The meeting discussed issues faced by the Barwala community, particularly caste atrocities in Kot Mehra Khour

In the meeting the participants of Barwala Sabha were President Devi Ditta, Vice President Balkar Youth Vice President Ravi Kumar and members Tarsem Lal, Ajit Kumar, Master Sham Lal, Harbans Lal.

Kalsotra acknowledged the increasing cases of caste atrocities against SC/STs in Jammu, emphasising the need for strict implementation of the SC/STs Atrocities Act and planning to meet higher police officer to apprise them .

The Confederation team assured the Barwala community of their support in addressing these issues and working towards preventing such incidents in the future.
Later Kalsotra alongwith all participants met Jammu Rural Superintendent of Police Barjesh Sharma in his office chamber  at Domana and informed him about the Kot Mehra case in which the SP assured that justice will be done to the members of the community.
