CBI Launches Major Search Operation Across Mumbai in Reliance ADA Group Investigation

Investigators search residences and offices connected to alleged diversion of bank funds involving group companies and intermediaries.

NEW DELHI, May 9: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday carried out coordinated searches at 17 locations across Mumbai as part of its investigation into three separate cases involving companies associated with the Reliance ADA Group.
According to officials, the cases pertain to Reliance Telecom Limited, Reliance Commercial Finance Limited and Reliance Home Finance Limited, along with their directors and other concerned individuals.
In an official statement, the agency said the searches were conducted at residential premises linked to company directors and at offices of intermediary entities allegedly connected to the movement and diversion of bank funds.
Investigators are examining financial transactions, company records and digital documents as part of the ongoing inquiry into suspected irregularities involving loans and fund transfers. Sources said the operation was aimed at collecting evidence related to the alleged misuse of financial channels and diversion of borrowed funds through multiple accounts.
The action comes amid increased scrutiny of corporate financial practices and lending procedures involving major business groups. Officials indicated that documents and electronic data recovered during the searches would be analysed further to determine the flow of transactions and the role of various entities involved.
No immediate response or statement was issued by the companies concerned following the raids.
The investigation is continuing, and officials said further legal and procedural steps would depend on the evidence gathered during the search operation.
