CCI Jammu defers May 11 elections following Divisional Commissioner’s advisory amid border tensions

Jammu, 09-05-2025: An emergency meeting of the executive committee of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu was called by Sh. Shiv Partap Gupta, Election President to apprise members about verbal directions issued by the Divisional Commissioner with regard to conduct of 11th May Election. It was further told that Divisional Commissioner’s office has written to the President that it is not advisable to hold the election in view of the prevailing situation on the border. Keeping in view last night’s drone and missile attack on Jammu by Pakistan and directions from the Divisional Commissioner, the Executive Committee decided with majority opinion to defer the holding of the election till normalcy is restored.

The election president announced that the present team of office bearers shall continue to function till elections are again decided by the executive committee. The Executive Committee, with majority opinion approved the announcement of the election president.
