Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi to Meet with Jammu’s Professionals in Landmark ‘Dogri Dham’ Meet

Rahul Gandhi to Host Exclusive Talks with J&K Professionals, Aims to Shape Region's Future

Jammu, 20-09-2024: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to meet professionals from various sectors in Jammu on September 25, providing a platform for open dialogue on the challenges faced by different industries in Jammu and Kashmir. This interaction will also allow their voices to be heard at the national level. Sanjay Sapru, head of the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the All India Professionals’ Congress (AIPC), announced that the event, titled ‘Dogri Dham,’ will take place as part of Gandhi’s campaign trail in the union territory, where he serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

Sapru emphasized the significance of the meet, stating that it offers professionals in the region an exclusive opportunity to engage in a meaningful conversation about the pressing issues they face. The event will not only highlight the concerns of these professionals but also provide a national platform for their aspirations and ideas to be acknowledged.

Gandhi will also hold similar professional meets in Srinagar, aiming to gain a better understanding of the issues faced by these communities across the region. “This is the first time a political platform like the AIPC is giving professionals a direct opportunity to share their challenges and collaborate on solutions,” Sapru added.

The engagement underscores the growing importance of the professional community in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir. The discussions are expected to focus on a range of issues, including economic development, employment opportunities, sector-specific challenges, and innovation, with the goal of identifying potential solutions for the region’s growth.

“We are inviting professionals from various sectors to join this important conversation and contribute to the future development of Jammu and Kashmir,” Sapru said, adding that a similar gathering will be held in Kashmir, with the date soon to be finalized.

In addition to these professional engagements, Gandhi is also set to campaign for Congress candidates in Srinagar and Jammu, addressing public rallies in both cities in the coming days. On September 23, Gandhi will speak at a rally in support of J-K Congress unit president and former minister Tariq Hamid Karra in the Shalteng constituency in Srinagar. He will also address a public gathering in the Surankote constituency in Poonch district during the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir elections.

On September 25, following his professional meet, Gandhi is expected to address another public rally in Jammu. Earlier this month, on September 4, Gandhi kick-started the Congress party’s campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections with two rallies in Gool (Ramban district) and Dooru (Anantnag district), in support of former J-K Congress chief Vikar Rasool Wani and AICC General Secretary G A Mir.

These elections, being held after a decade, mark a critical political moment for the union territory, and Gandhi’s involvement reflects the Congress party’s commitment to addressing the region’s concerns through both professional engagement and political campaigning.
