Dalit, OBC, Minority Bodies Commemorate Bhima Koregaon Vijay Diwas in Jammu, Reaffirm Commitment to Constitutional Values

Confederation of Dalit, OBC, Minorities & Adivasis Organisations J&K Celebrates Vijay Diwas at Jammu; SAMANTA Magazine Launched; Resolution Passed to Restore Dignity of Babasaheb Ambedkar

Jammu:01.01.2026: The Confederation of Dalit, OBC, Minorities & Adivasis Organisations, Jammu and Kashmir, today commemorated Vijay Diwas (Bhima Koregaon Diwas) at Jammu, marking the historic victory that symbolizes resistance against oppression and the assertion of constitutional values of equality, justice, and dignity.

Vijay Diwas at Bhima Koregaon stands as a powerful reminder of the struggle for social justice and the triumph of constitutional morality over caste-based discrimination. It inspires present and future generations to uphold equality, fraternity, and democratic rights enshrined in the Constitution of India.

Addressing the gathering, Shri R.K. Kalsotra, State President, Confederation of  Dalit OBC, Minorities £ Adivasis Organisations, J&K, highlighted the relevance of Bhima Koregaon in strengthening social unity and reaffirmed the Confederation’s commitment to protecting constitutional values and the rights of marginalized communities.

On the occasion, Shri R.K. Kalsotra released the first issue of “SAMANTA” magazine, which documents the genesis, achievements, and future endeavours of the Confederation.

SAMANTA serves as a reflective chronicle of the Confederation’s journey and a vision document for inclusive social transformation. It aims to inform, inspire, and mobilize stakeholders towards constitutional awareness, social justice, and collective progress.

The Confederation also passed a resolution expressing strong concern over the shifting of the photograph of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Founding Father of the Indian Constitution, from the Jammu Bar Council premises, terming it a grave sign of disrespect to constitutional values. The resolution demands immediate steps to restored it at its original place in the premises of Jammu Bar Council in J&K High Court, Jammu . In this connection the resolution will be forwarded to Chief Justice of India, Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of UT-J&K, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister UT-J&K for necessary action.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge to work collectively for social oneness, constitutional awareness, and justice for all.
