DDC/Panchayat by-election culminated peacefully in district kishtwar
Last Phase of DDC polls in Kishtwar and Trigam recorded highest ever turnout of 73.45%*
Kishtwar 19-12-2020:Amid the fine weather condition, the last phase of the first-ever DDC and Panchayat By-Election 2020 ended today peacefully under the overall supervision of District Panchayat Election Officer Kishtwar Ashok Sharma for the two District Development Council constituencies of district kishtwar Viz Kishtwar and Trigam with a turnout of 73.45%.
The election went smoothly across the 2 Constituencies amid administrative and security arrangements and people from all walks of life came out to cast their votes.
Yesterday the 48 polling parties which were dispatched amid tight security and other logistics arrangements included 32 parties for Kishtwar and 16 polling parties for Trigam DDC Constituencies.
09 candidates were in the fray for the Kishtwar DDC constituency and 03 candidates were contesting for Trigam DDC constituency.
By-election for 02 vacant Sarpanch seats in Kishtwar and 01 vacant sarpanch seats in Trigam were conducted today smoothly. wherein 06 candidates were in the fray for Matta B kishtwar besides 03 candidates for Pochal A and 02 Candidates for Trigam vacant Sarpanch seat were in the fray.
In this phase, a total of 15779 voters are registered for kishtwar DDC constituency and a total of 6582 voters are registered for Trigam DDC Constituency.
By the end of the poll, the turnout for DDC polls was recorded at 76.93% in Kishtwar and 65.12% in Trigam DDC Constituency besides the turnout for Sarpanch seat in Trigam is 79.22% and overall poll percentage for Sarpanch seats in Kishtwar DDC constituency was recorded as 72.92%
With the successful completion of 8th phase, the process of DDC elections has been culminated successfully.
In order to ensure the effective monitoring of the DDC election, DPEO kishtwar today inspected various booths and reviewed the security and other arrangements for the smooth and hassle-free conduct of DDC elections where people showed great satisfaction over the arrangements placed in by district Administration.
Whereas at another instance the Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohd Hanief Malik inspected polling booths at Trigam besides Additional Deputy commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar besides ACR kishtwar Dr Amir Hussain and other officer visited various booths of the block Kishtwar.
With the successful completion of the polling exercise for DDC and Panchayat by-elections, DPEO kishtwar has thanked the people in general and the polling staff in particular for their cooperation in making this exercise a grand success.
DPEO kishtwar further informed that the counting shall be held on 22-12-2020 at 06 identified venues of the district Viz at KV Kishtwar, GDC Kishtwar , CFC building Paddar, TRC Chatroo, GHSS Yourdu Marwah, and HSS Dachhan for which deployed staff has been trained for every aspect of counting.
