Democracy under threat, Congress to resist Modi govt’s divisive politics, asserts Dr Sayed Naseer Hussain

Groupism, indiscipline will not be tolerated in party: Naseer Hussain

JAMMU, April 17—The newly appointed AICC General Secretary in charge of Jammu and Kashmir has said that Congress will fight back against the renewed vendetta politics of the BJP against the top leadership of our party,  which has initiated it further because of the Congress party’s renewed efforts to oppose the policies of the BJP, especially in Gujarat itself and Bihar elsewhere also.

Addressing a large gathering of leaders and workers at Shakti Nagar Jammu at Afsar Guest House after a warm welcome at airport and enroute despite his delayed arrival of around three hours on his maiden visit, the newly appointed AICC General Secretary in charge of J&K sounded a strong message to fight back against the communal, divisive, and especially vendetta politics of the Modi government.

At both the meetings, Dr. Sayed Naseer Hussain told senior leaders and workers that it is time to fight back attempts of the BJP-RSS to weaken the democratic constitution by all-out efforts to threaten the opposition and its leadership.

Congress fought against  Britishers; it will not be cowed down by the vindictive actions of the BJP, and it is duty-bound to safeguard democracy, democratic institutions & democratic values in country, which are under threat under bjp regime.

He elaborated that the  Congress stands on secular democracy, and all issues of unity in diversity are clear. Any assault on the constitution would be opposed along with all like-minded secular forces at every step, like the recent amendment to the Wakf Act.

He said Rahul Gandhi has started giving challenges in Gujarat by holding AICC sessions at Ahmedabad and on every front, so the BJP wants to divert the attention of the country from various failures.

He asked cadres to be strong and united to fight back at every step to safeguard democracy and democratic culture, and values.

He told them in the senior leaders’ meeting in the evening at the Asia Hotel that he is always available to listen to the leadership of all classes and Congress’s democratic party, and differences of opinion can be there on issues, but indiscipline shall not be allowed.

Congress has to emerge as a strong secular voice of the people of all sections as centre is ignoring the promised statehood to J&K.

JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, AICC General Secretary CLP Leader G. A. Mir, Working Presidents Tara Chand, Raman Bhalla, and Ch. Lal Singh, AICC Secretaries Manoj Yadav, Shah Nawaz, and Neeraj Kundan, all MLAs, former ministers and legislators, other senior leaders, frontal organizations, and DCC presidents attended meetings.
