DGP Dilbag Singh Commends Public and Forces for Smooth and Secure G20 Event in Jammu and Kashmir

25-05-2023 : Dilbag Singh, director general of police (DGP), thanked the general public and security personnel for helping to make the G20 summit in Jammu and Kashmir a successful and secure occasion. Delegates left after the historic three-day event, which took place from May 22 to 24, leaving behind happy memories cherished by the locals.
The G20 event has brought about new opportunities and dispelled many myths and false narratives propagated by our neighboring country that were anti-Kashmir and anti-peace. The people of Kashmir deserve special commendation for recognizing the falsehoods of Pakistan’s narratives and wholeheartedly embracing and participating in the event. The delegates not only enjoyed the natural beauty of Kashmir but also praised the local people for their warm hospitality.
The security arrangements implemented for the event were unobtrusive, allowing normal life and business activities to continue without inconvenience. Traffic flow and business operations proceeded smoothly, thanks to the cooperation of the people with the police, security forces, and traffic regulations. DGP Dilbag Singh expressed his gratitude to the public for their support and adherence to security measures.
The G20 event became a people’s event as they showcased their local art, craft, and traditions of hospitality to the international guests. The delegates had the opportunity to explore key tourist attractions, including the renowned Nishat Bagh, Parimahal, enjoying a Shikara ride on Dal Lake, and shopping in Polo View.
The police and security forces adopted a people-friendly approach throughout the event. DGP Dilbag Singh extended his thanks and congratulations to all ranks of the police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other agencies involved in ensuring the success of the G20 event. Their excellent work over the three days resulted in a seamless and secure environment for the event held in Kashmir.
