DGP Nalin Prabhat Conducts Public Grievance Redressal Programme in Kashmir, Strengthening Police-Public Engagement
Srinagar, Mar 19: In a significant effort to enhance police-public relations and ensure transparency in law enforcement, Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, conducted a public grievance redressal programme on Wednesday at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Srinagar. The initiative aimed to provide citizens with a platform to directly engage with top police officials, voice their concerns, and seek resolutions.
The event saw the participation of several senior police officers, including Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Birdi, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Central Kashmir Range, SSP Srinagar, SSP Security, and SSP PCR Kashmir. Their presence underscored the administration’s commitment to addressing public grievances effectively and promptly.
A police spokesperson highlighted that the programme attracted around 200 public delegations, comprising individuals and representatives from diverse backgrounds, who raised issues ranging from law enforcement concerns to administrative matters. The DGP patiently listened to each grievance, assuring attendees of prompt and impartial action.
To ensure swift resolution, DGP Prabhat instructed the concerned officers to take immediate steps and follow up on cases requiring further investigation. In several instances, grievances were addressed on the spot with direct orders from the DGP, reinforcing the commitment of the police force to community welfare.
Encouraging the public to maintain open communication with law enforcement agencies, DGP Prabhat emphasized that such interactive sessions play a vital role in bridging the gap between citizens and the police. He urged people to approach the police without hesitation, assuring them that their concerns would be treated with the highest priority.
The spokesperson further stated that public grievance redressal initiatives contribute significantly to strengthening trust, enhancing community safety, and fostering a positive relationship between the police and the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
