BANDIPORA, MARCH 20: The District Industries Centre (DIC) Bandipora Saturday organized the 3rd Udhyam registration mela at dak bungalow, Sumbal.
On the occasion, 90 unitholders of the district registered their units on spot on the Udhyam portal. The unitholders were appraised about the benefits of registering their units in Udhayam which will eventually replace their EM 2 registration.
While speaking on the occasion, Project Manager DIC Bandipora Mehraj Wani provided Awareness to the general public about the scheme and benefits of the PMEGP scheme.
He said Udhyam registration is fully online, paperless, free registration based on self-declaration for Micro, Small and Medium enterprises after which the entrepreneur will get a permanent registration number. After the completion of the registration, a certificate will be issued online.
He also said that those units who have EM 2 or UAM registration or any other registration issued by any authority under the ministry of MSME will have to mandatorily register themselves in Udhayam.
Wani said under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme, easy loan facilities are available through recognized financial institutions for self-employment and self-entrepreneurship.
The Project manager informed that in a subsidized and technical environment new ventures of manufacturing and services sectors can be opened under PMEGP and the Industries department shall render all possible facilitation.
The unemployed youth were encouraged to avail the loans and incentives under PMEGP and other schemes being provided by State & Central Government through the Department of Industries and Commerce so as to establish their own income-generating units.
The attendants were also apprised that general category male candidates are eligible for 15 per cent subsidy in the urban area and 25 per cent in a rural area while Special category candidates (including SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minorities/Women, Ex-servicemen, Physically handicapped, etc.) are eligible for 25 per cent subsidy in urban areas and 35 per cent subsidy in rural areas.
Mubarak Ahmad, IPO DIC Bandipora, on the occasion, provided awareness about various industrial incentives available to them under the Industrial Development Scheme -2017 and New Industrial Policy, which was recently launched by Lt. Governor UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
He also raised awareness about the procedure for availing incentives like Capital Investment Subsidy, Central Interest Subsidy, and Central Insurance Subsidy under IDS-2017.
The camp was attended by elected representatives of sub-division Sumbal, young entrepreneurs, unitholders and employees of DIC Bandipora.
