Dr Darakhshan Andrabi revokes suspension orders of Waqf Board employees

12-04-2023: The Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, has issued a directive to release the salaries of over 1500 employees of the Board in advance for the month of April. The payment is to be made on or before the 19th of this month, in view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival. The suspension orders of employees posted at Hazratbal, Makhdoom Sahib and Naqshband Sahib shrines have also been revoked, and their salaries released.

Additionally, the remuneration of Imams, Naib Imams, Khateebs, Muazzins, and Darasgah Muallims, as per the recent enhanced rates announced by the Waqf Chairperson, shall be released with effect from the 1st of March, 2023. Administrators, School Heads, Darasgah Muhtamims, and Incharge Sectional Heads have been directed to complete the payment process in time so that all Waqf staff receive their advance salaries by 19th April. Furthermore, the suspension orders of 31 employees posted at three shrines in Srinagar have been revoked as a special case in view of the Eid festival. However, they have been warned of facing serious action if they repeat negligence in the future.
