In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh today laid the foundation stone of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Shiksha Bhawan at the Central University of Jammu, Rahya-Sucahni in district Samba in the presence of Vice-chancellor Prof. Ashok Aima and others.
AIR Correspondent reports that the proposed building is being constructed with the financial assistance provided by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, under Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT).
The key objective of the scheme is to enhance the quality of teachers and teaching-learning. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh said that the construction of the new building in the name of Mahamana Malviya will give an impetus to the strengthening of School Education and Teacher Education in the region and benefit not only Jammu and Kashmir but also the adjoining States and the entire country.
Dr. Singh said that J&K is aiming to become a model region for innovation and entrepreneurship, and the central institutions will act as a catalyst to create a talent pool and numerous career opportunities. He said, the government is focusing on restructuring the education system to empower people, create jobs, and boost economic growth, as proposed in the NEP 2020.
