Dr Shazad Asks DC to fix Responsibility for Trailing of District Poonch in Good Governance Index

Jammu, 23-06-2023: Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference(JK-BADC), a registered organization working for the welfare of residents of border areas of J & K has expressed serious concern over the poor performance of district Poonch in the recently released edition of District Good Governance Index (DGGI), wherein out of 20 districts of J & K, district Poonch attained 2nd last position(19th) just above  Reasi.

Ranking of a district under the District Good Governance Index(DGGI) is an indicator and parameter to measure the performance of a district with regard to the Agriculture & Allied sector, Commerce & Industry, Human Resource Development,  Public Health Sectors,  Public Infrastructure & Utilities, Social Welfare & Development, Financial Inclusion, Legal & Public Safety, Environment, Citizen-Centric Governance.

Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, Chairman of JK_BADC and former Vice Chancellor while giving his reaction over the poor performance of district Poonch in the District Good Governance Index of J & K has requested the Deputy Commissioner Poonch to fix responsibility of all the departments and officers so that next year border district Poonch brings out some better results and provide better services to its people.

The BADC Chairman also asked the DC to hold sensitization and capacity-building programs for district officers so that they also help out in achieving the target of making Poonch a role model for Citizen centric Governance.  The former VC also offered all the help of his organization to district administration Poonch to hold any training and capacity building program for officers.
