Environment Club of Dogra College of Education Organized “Plantation Drive”
14-02-2023 : Environment Club of Dogra College of Education organized “Plantation Drive” in the premises of Dogra Educational Complex on 13th of February 2023 wherein 50 students of B.Ed. Course, Session 2021-23 (3rd Semester) and Session 2022-24 (1st Semester) participated. The programme started with welcome address given by Ms. Pratibha Rout of B.Ed. Semester 3rd. Students of both the semesters delivered lecture on Awareness talk on Plantation Drive and emphasized to grow more and more plants to make our surrounding neat and clean not only for the present but for the future also. During the plantation drive 20 original saplings where planted in around the campus like (Spinach, Coriander, Methi and some Marigold seeds). The motto behind this plantation drive was to make students aware of the value of a green, healthy and pollution free environment. Ms. Akshita Magotra of Sem.3rd (2021-23) did the comparing.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary DET and Prof. (Dr,) Darshana Sharma, Director, DGC & CD, Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal Dogra College of Education. On this occasion, Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, DET told the students that we should inspire the young generation to take initiative like plantation drive for the betterment of our surrounding. He appreciated the efforts of the students who participated and contributed in this drive by planting different plants and to make drive successful. Prof. (Dr.) Darshana Sharma also encouraged and advised the students that if future generation want to enjoy mother earth’s resources, it is important that we should plant and save trees.
A formal vote of thanks was presented by Mrs. Jyoti Raina, Lecturer, Environmental Science and Convener Environment Club of Dogra College of Education who thanked dignitaries, faculty members, non teaching staff and students for their cooperation and participation in such a lively event.
