Farooq Abdullah’s hypocrisy exposed, validates BJP’s stand on Art 370: Kavinder
Says NC Patron's double speak a betrayal of Kashmiri sentiments
JAMMU, APRIL 16: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today came down heavily on National Conference patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah following shocking revelations made by former RAW Chief A.S Dulat in his new book, claiming that Abdullah had privately supported the abrogation of Article 370 and had even expressed willingness to “help” if taken into confidence.
Reacting to the development, the BJP stalwart said that the mask of political deception worn by the National Conference for decades has finally slipped. “Dulat’s account exposes the monumental hypocrisy of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and the NC leadership. While they publicly cried betrayal, they were secretly aligned with the Modi Government’s historic decision. This is a betrayal not just of the Constitution but of the trust of the people of Jammu & Kashmir,” he asserted.
Kavinder said that BJP has long maintained that Article 370 was a temporary and regressive provision that hindered J&K’s integration and development. “Now, even those who projected themselves as its staunch defenders seem to have privately agreed with us. This validates the BJP’s visionary stand and the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to deliver justice and equality to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
The former Deputy CM questioned the political integrity of the NC leadership, accusing them of playing a dual role. “What kind of politics is this—where you quietly nod to Delhi and then stage protests in the Valley to gain sympathy and votes? This is a classic case of political double-speak and opportunism that the people of J&K must see through,” he added.
Kavinder also targeted the Gupkar Alliance, saying that the revelations have shattered the moral credibility of the so-called ‘Gupkar Gang’. “If the senior-most leader of the alliance was willing to collaborate on Article 370 abrogation, what moral ground does this alliance have to oppose the move now?”
Kavinder said that the time has come for Kashmiri voters to demand truth and accountability from their traditional leaders. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered enough under the shadow of lies and manipulation. Let this be the moment where truth prevails over theatrics.”
