Financial Profiles of Jammu-Reasi Candidates: Raman Bhalla, Ankur Sharma, and Jugal Kishore Sharma Declare Assets and Liabilities in Affidavits

Know the Wealth of Jammu-Reasi Politicians

Jammu, 04-04-2024: Raman Bhalla, the Congress candidate for the Jammu-Reasi parliamentary seat, and his wife Indra Bhalla, who is also the party’s nominee for covering, have assets worth crores, and Jugal Kishore Sharma, the BJP nominee running for a third term in the seat, is also a crorepati. In an affidavit submitted to the Returning Officer, Raman Bhalla declared to have assets worth Rs 50 lakh in inheritance assets and Rs 3.9 crore in self-acquired assets. Indra Bhalla possesses moveable assets valued at Rs 68.03 lakh and has inherited assets of Rs 3.61 crore. The respective moveable asset values of Bhalla’s two children are Rs 11.97 lakh and Rs 16.56 lakh. Bhalla possesses 110 grammes of gold worth Rs 7 lakh, while his spouse owns 390 grammes of gold worth Rs 24 lakh and 550 grammes of silver. Kritti Bhalla, his daughter, owns 180 grammes of gold, which is worth Rs 11 lakh. Nevertheless, Bhalla has also taken out an educational loan from the Gandhi Nagar branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank for Rs 10.19 lakh, while Indra Bhalla has secured a car loan for Rs 25.16 lakh. Bhalla’s wife is valued at Rs 34.53 lakh, but his total obligations amount to Rs 47.27 lakh. The Congress leader, a former minister as well, disclosed his yearly income for 2022–2023 as Rs 12.05 lakh.

Indra Bhalla declared the same assets under her own name in an affidavit that she filed on behalf of her spouse. Indra Bhalla reported an annual income of Rs 8.7 lakh for the fiscal year 2022–2023 in her income tax form. Indra Bhalla possessed a Verna automobile Model 2021 that cost Rs 9 lakh and a Safari Model 2024 that was valued at Rs 30 lakh.

The moveable assets of BJP candidate Jugal Kishore Sharma, who won the Jammu-Reasi Parliamentary constituency twice in a row in 2014 and 2019, are valued at Rs 1.20 crore, while those of his wife, Usha Sharma, are valued at Rs 42.95 lakh. Jugal has inherited assets worth Rs 1.05 crore and self-acquired assets worth Rs 3.1 crore. His spouse’s assets are self-acquired and total Rs 1.47 crore. In the income tax return for 2022–2023, Jugal declared an annual income of Rs. 17.35 lakh, whilst his wife reported an income of Rs. 17.04 lakh for the same year. Jugal owns a TATA tipper valued at Rs 22.78 lakh and one WDV costing Rs 12 lakh. He has 20 tolas of jewellery costing Rs 12 lakh while his wife has 50 tolas of jewellery valued at Rs 30 lakh.

Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal candidate Ankur Sharma has shown Rs 52.34 lakh worth of income for the year 2023-24. He owns a Mercedes Benz 2023 Model worth Rs 76 lakh, a Toyota Fortuner valued at Rs 45 lakh, and a Honda City costing Rs 16.50 lakh. Ankur’s wife owns 40 tolas of gold valued at Rs 24 lakh, however, he only has five tolas worth of gold worth Rs 3 lakh. His personally acquired immovable property is valued at Rs 5.75 lakh (four marlas of land) and Rs 51.15 lakh (36 marlas of land). He has three auto loans totaling Rs. 40 lakh, Rs. 23 lakh, and Rs. 10 lakh in addition to a home loan of Rs. 40 lakh.
