Focus on making J&K tantalizing place for film shootings: Kavinder
Prays for longevity, good health of PM Modi on his birthday
PUNE (MAHARASHTRA), 17-09-2022 : Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Saturday batted for re-launching J&K as an enticing place for film shootings and also to boost the religious tourism in the region looking into its vast scope and previous record.
The BJP stalwart leader was in Maharashtra where he paid obeisance at Bhimashanker Temple, which is a Jyotirlinga shrine located near Pune. He prayed for the longevity and healthy life of PM Modi on his birthday and also for the peace, prosperity and progress of the UT of J&K.
Kavinder said that he was very happy to see the systematic management of the religious shrines and temples in Maharashtra and we need to emulate the same in J&K UT with some minor adjustments as per the local specifications. He said that religious tourism will boost other sectors of tourism like site-seeing tourism, etc. He said that he was highly impressed with the expansion of facilities for pilgrims and promoting infrastructure projects with enhanced and hassle free connectivity.
The senior BJP leader said that on his return to J&K he will appeal to the UT Administration to prepare a novel roadmap for developing a model mega religious pilgrimage cum destination project keeping in mind the world class facilities provided at pilgrimages in rest of the nation which envisages conservation and proper maintenance of even forgotten religious sites in J&K so that tourists from across the world get attracted to register their footfall in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Later, the senior BJP functionary from J&K visited Vishnu Temple and Raj Kapoor bungalow. He showered praises on Maharashtra government for doing yeoman’s job in boosting tourism. He said that the J&K government should take a cue from the Maharashtra government to replicate measures in the UT to promote tourism especially the religious tourism and also making J&K once again the favourite tourist destination for the filmmakers as was the case in 1960s and 70s by offering bounties and pre-requisite facilities without any hindrance or bottlenecks.
Kavinder said that this is not at all a difficult matter, the only thing is the will to bring the change as J&K has all the content required to hold film shootings as in the past it was the most popular film making destination of the country.
