19-02-2023 : Ch Lal Singh, the former Member of Parliament and Chairman of Dogra Swabhiman Sangthan Party (DSSP), announced that the next phase of his Jan Sampark Abhiyan will commence on February 20 in the Hiranagar Constituency of district Kathua. Singh expressed his gratitude to the people of Kathua constituency for their support during the 2nd phase of the Jan Sampark Abhiyan.
The DSSP’s Jan Sampark Abhiyaan is a three-day campaign where party activists, along with civil society and other like-minded groups, walk on the roads in each constituency of Jammu province. After Kathua, the campaign will move to Hiranagar Constituency, followed by other constituencies in the district of Kathua.
Singh mentioned that the DSSP has been campaigning against the present regime for a long time and will intensify its efforts due to the government’s anti-farmer, anti-poor, anti-employee, and anti-youth policies. He criticized the government’s draconian land laws and policy of demolition, which has caused fear among the masses. The DSSP will fight to prevent the government from taking away the shelter and livelihoods of the people of Jammu. Singh claimed that these people are being falsely projected as encroachers while they are not, as they have been allotted lands and have their documents entered in the revenue record.
Singh also stated that the DSSP is committed to restoring the dignity and cultural ethos of Dogras, and any attempt to dilute it will not be tolerated. He added that his party stands for Jammu to be declared as a state with Article 371, as it qualifies all parameters to be an independent state of India.
Singh appealed to the Prime Minister and Home Minister to intervene in the matter of land laws in Jammu and Kashmir to end the sense of insecurity among the general public and to keep a check on the arbitrary and autocratic bureaucracy in the country, especially in J&K UT. He was accompanied by former MLA Kanta Andotra and others.
