Fully Prepared To Face Any Situation: LG Manoj Sinha Assures Citizens Amid Intense Cross-Border Shelling by Pakistan
Srinagar, May 7: In the wake of escalating cross-border shelling by Pakistani forces following India’s precision missile strikes on terror hubs across the border, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the administration is fully prepared to handle any eventuality arising from the situation.
Taking to his official handle on X, the Lieutenant Governor said he had conducted a comprehensive review of the ground situation in all the border districts of the Union Territory.
“I took detailed stock of the evolving scenario across all border districts of J&K UT, in consultation with senior administrative, police, and district-level officials including Deputy Commissioners,” he wrote. “We are closely monitoring every development. The administration is fully geared to respond effectively to any emergency.”
LG Sinha added that clear directions have been issued for the immediate evacuation of civilians from the most vulnerable zones to safe shelters. “I have instructed the Deputy Commissioners to shift people from sensitive areas to secure locations, ensuring proper arrangements for boarding, lodging, food, medical care, and transportation,” he said.
Reassuring the public, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized, “The safety and security of every citizen is our top priority. We will leave no stone unturned in protecting lives. Jai Hind!”
The situation intensified after India launched targeted missile strikes early Wednesday on nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The coordinated operation targeted terror bases belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke, in a firm response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians lost their lives.
Soon after the Indian strikes, Pakistani troops began heavy and indiscriminate shelling across multiple sectors along the Line of Control and International Border, prompting urgent action from the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
The administration’s quick response, led by LG Sinha, aims to safeguard civilian lives, maintain public order, and prepare for any unforeseen military or humanitarian exigency as border tensions continue to escalate.
