High density Walnut Plantation, Distribution of Soil Health Cards, other activities mark Day 11 in Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, APRIL 11: The Day 11 of the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan celebration was marked by a series of activities here under the aegis of 100 point programme of sustainable development Goals.
The events were held on the direction of District Development Commissioner Ashok Sharma and under the guidance of Additional District Development Commissioner Sham Lal.
The campaign was carried out by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in collaboration with other Line Departments and PRIs.
The activities included Plantation of High density Walnut, distribution of Soil Health Card to farmers, awareness on Nasha Mukt Bharat, Aadhar Card Generation camps, Establishment of Panchayat Secretariats, Swachhta Abhiyan etc.
A 2-day Aadhar enrollment camp started at Panchayat Office Piyaas of Nagseni block under the supervision of the Block Development Officer Abhay Indu Sharma.
Similar Aadhaar generation camp was also organised in Panchayat Inderwal-C which was arranged by ICDS Department Kishtwar.
A Panchayat Secretariat was also established at Panchayat Sounder-A of Block Dachhan. Besides, a series of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan awareness activities were held in different Panchayats of the District by the Social Welfare Department under the guidance of District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Parveaz Qazi.
Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare hosted a Soil Health Card distribution camp at Panchayat Drab.
Cleanliness drives were also conducted at many Blocks of the District by RDD staff, PRIs and locals to sensitize the masses about the sense of cleanliness.
The High Density Walnut Plantation drives were held at Panchayat Sapan Patnazi Bonjwah, Dambar and Dool Panchayats under close supervision of Chief Horticulture Officer Mushtaq Ahmed Wani.
